Melvin Neal LaViness was born on 20 Feb 1918 in Drumright, Creek Co., OK. He appeared on the census in 1920 in Drumright, Creek Co., OK. He was living in Apr 1928 in Drumright, Creek Co., OK. Melvin was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and supported the Order of Rainbow for Girls.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in 1983. Melvin enjoyed gardening and watching wild birds. He also enjoyed being outdoors and traveling. He died on 15 Feb 1983 in Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, Allen Co., OH. He was buried on 17 Feb 1983 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada, Hardin Co., OH.
